Todd Lamonia, President & CEO

Mr. Lamonia has over 16 years of experience in the Information Technology area. Prior to starting Intellifed, he worked for American Management Systems (now CGI), Communication Technologies, Dow Jones, and DHL. He has a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from American University and is a graduate of the Kauffman FastTrac TechVenture entrepreneur program. His interest in computers and entrepreneurship started when he was a young boy. His parents bought him his first computer, a TRS-80 Color Computer, when he was ten years old and he quickly learned to program in BASIC. At this time he and a friend hatched a plan to start their own snowboard business, snowboarding was a new and exciting interest he had at the time. After designing two prototype snowboards and publishing a catalog, they had depleted their allowance and decided to exit the business. He then took several computer classes and earned a certificate in Color Graphics by age eleven and bought his first modem when he was twelve. He thought he knew enough now to start his own software business. However school took precedence and the business never got off the ground. His passion for computers continued through High School where he programmed on Apple II computers and IBM PCs. In college he built his own PC, learned PASCAL, and taught himself UNIX while working in an Electrical Engineering Lab. His first job out of college was with Dow Jones, where he had several roles as a UNIX System Administrator, Database Administrator, and Wide Area Network engineer. He then went to graduate school while working full time and earned a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from American University in two years. Mr. Lamonia went on to work at American Management Systems (now CGI) where he led a team in charge of the company's firewalls and Virtual Private Networks and consulted on several state and local government projects. After the Dot-com Bubble burst, Mr. Lamonia went to work for DHL leading the IT Infrastructure Team for their Global Mail division. At DHL, he rolled out new technologies to support DHL's mission critical mail sorting operations. He then went on to lead the IT Department for Communication Technologies, a government contractor, where he again wore many hats. He handled presales engineering, ran the Network Operations Center and wrote many winning proposals. As the President and CEO of Intellifed, Mr. Lamonia is able to use his diverse background and management experience to deliver the highest quality solutions and best service to his customers. Mr. Lamonia resides in the beautiful Piedmont region of Virginia with his wife and two children.
